Description

The teeth are often preserved and found in sediments in the North Sea

The inner ear is removable to show the semi-circular canals etc

There are some chips to the model here and there together with missing flakes of paint but all commensurate with the age and use of the item

These were valuable items for the Bene Bene people as the white cowries were a valuable currency which had been traded from the coast via the barter system between a number of tribal groups before finally arriving at the Highlands

The whole slice measures 24cm x 12cm at the widest points

Real human cranium / calvarium medical specimen. The teeth are often preservedThis cranium must have been part of a complete skull as it still has the pins on which, hooks held the cranium in place. Unfortunately, it has become separated from the rest of the skull at some stage in the past. The cranium is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and also has a nice Wormian bone at the junction of the frontal and sagittal sutures.
