Victorian suite of a brooch and earrings designed beautifully as cascading leaves with rock crystal and 15 Carat gold

The reverse features a glazed hairwork compartment, mounted in gold. Circa 1830. The Maltese cross was first used in the 1500s, given to individuals who had demonstrated acts of valour and rescue. The crosses then became very fashionable in the 18th. Length: 4. 9cm
