There is a delicate filigree metal design holding the spun nylon ball in place topped with a rhinestone and crystal and then a hook for the ear. Fine for those with sensitive ears and super lightweight. the ball is . 5" wide dangles 2" from the ear In excellent vintage condition, a few very small scuffs light wear but no major visible flaws
