The Naval Reserve Meritorious Service Medal (NRMS) is a decoration presented by the United States Armed Forces to recognize enlisted members (officers are not eligible) of the Reserve or National Guard who have completed three years of honorable service
it was also first introduced as a means to recognize the contributions of enlisted personnel and junior officers who were not qualified to receive the higher Commendation Medal or the Meritorious Service Medal
