It does seem real and soft. I would guess mink or fox or similar.** Great for winter ski trips to the alps! Or just looking chic walking through the snow to the bodega. Has a lovely red silk lining with brown ribbon trim I have a medium head and its fits great Flat measurements: 10 tall 13 wide Circumference of hat is around 20 give or take
