Buckingham Training School/Stephen J. Ellis Elementary School for African Americans
Buckingham County – One of the 53 sites along the Civil Rights in Education Heritage Trail®. This 9-acre park is the site of the first African American Secondary School in Buckingham County which later became the Stephen J. Ellis Elementary School. The building has been fully restored. This is a great stop along the Civil Rights in Education Heritage Trail®.
