High Bridge Trail State Park

Recognized as a National Recreation Trail, High Bridge is 31-miles suited for hiking, bicycling and horseback riding. Once a rail bed, Its crushed, flat limestone surface makes it easy to enjoy, but bring water, none is available on the trail. The High Bridge, more than 2,400 feet long and 125 feet above the Appomattox, is a Virginia National Landmark, the longest recreational bridge in the Commonwealth and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
