Reenactment

Virginia was the central stage of the Civil War and home to more battles than any other state. From the Northern Advance towards the Confederate capital in Richmond, the siege of Petersburg, to the Appomattox campaign that eventually led to the southern surrender, Virginia’s Crossroads is filled with historic battle sites. In commemoration of these clashes, battle reenactments are regularly performed throughout our region. This massive theatre allows for viewers to see the elements of our nation’s history played out before their eyes on the very soil that first staged the fight.
