The Final March

The Final March: The Road to Appomattox is a cooperative retelling of the last days of the Appomattox Campaign and Lee's retreat from Petersburg to Appomattox. Nine partnering organizations recount the events of the campaign on that day in history from March 29 through April 14 to get you as close to the action as possible. From the Breakthrough at Petersburg to the formal surrender at Appomattox you'll be treated to living history, education programs, lectures and entertainment brought to you by those preserving the rich history of Virginia and the Civil War.
